Bellcote Appeal

We rely on the incredible generosity of people to maintain our two churches. In addition to all the bills we must pay to heat and light our churches, we also recently identified a crack in the bellcote of St George and St Martin's Church during an inspection. The picture above gives an idea of how bad it is. It is estimated that is will cost us £60,000 pounds to repair. Can you help us? If so you can give in one of the following ways. 

 

Offertory Collection

You can give cash or cheque (payable To St George and St Martin Parish or St Bernard of Clairvaux Parish after April 6th 2026)  in the usual way at the Offertory collection at Mass over the weekend. If you are a UK taxpayer including pensions) then we can increase the value of your donation via gift aid. We can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift, currently 25p for every £1. To gift-aid your donation, you need to fill in a gift-aid form and use a set of offertory envelopes for any donations.

     Cheque in the Post

If you are not able to come to to Mass over the weekend, then you can send a cheque, (payable To St George and St Martin Parish or St Bernard of Clairvaux Parish after April 6th 2026). Then post it to St George and St Martin's Presbytery, Gibbins Street, Birches Head, Stoke on Trent. ST1 2LS.

  By Standing Order 

A good number of parishioners give through a weekly or monthly standing order. If anyone else would like to consider doing this then please request a standing order form when you come to Mass. You can download it here 

Standing Order form. Alternatively via email or post and one will be sent to you. The form asks if you wish to gift-aid your donations.  

                                         

    Contactless Giving

You can also donate in church using our Dona Contactless Machine, select the amount you want to give, Then follow the instructions and select the gift aid option if you are a tax payer.
